An examination of your teeth and gums, with a clear explanation of what you need and your options before any treatment.

An examination is the starting point for any treatment plan. The doctor looks at your teeth, gums and surrounding tissues, and asks about any symptoms, your health history and the medicines you take.

When you might need it

  • Pain, sensitivity or bleeding gums.
  • It has been a long time since your last visit.
  • Before any cosmetic procedure.
  • For peace of mind even without symptoms — some problems start without pain.

What to expect

  • A short conversation about why you came and your health history.
  • An examination of teeth and gums, with extra tests such as X-rays only when needed.
  • An explanation of the findings, your options, and what can or should not wait.
  • No treatment starts before you understand it and agree to it.

General information only. The right treatment for you is decided after an examination, and results vary from person to person.
